Exodus 22:12-14

¹² However, if it was stolen from him, he shall make restitution to its owner. ¹³ If it is torn in pieces, then let him bring it as evidence, and he will not have to repay for that which was torn.

¹⁴ If a man borrows anything from his neighbor, and it is hurt or dies when the owner was not with it, then he shall surely make restitution.
